Hunger

A pair on the frontier stumble upon an abandoned camp that has been claimed by a stubborn stranger.

notes from me

This, like Paul is Dead, was a developed pitch for the Abaddon project. About 10 pitches, if memory serves, made it through this round of the development process and Hunger was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it was frozen in this time capsule because we ended up going with the Abaddon, a mysterious apartment complex where the floors are separated by the tenant's class. And Hunger had no place in that setting.

It is immortalized here because it is the only example of period writing in my portfolio and because I think it does a good job of economic characterization.
